Coated Glass
Anti-Glare / Anti-Reflective Glass
Anti-glare/anti-reflective (AR) glass carries a coating that reduces surface light reflection, improving visibility through the glass and minimizing glare — commonly specified for display, retail, and daylighting applications where reflection interferes with visibility.
Specifications

Key Features
Significantly reduces surface reflectance versus standard float glass, improves true-color visibility for display and retail applications, and hard-coat CVD versions are durable enough for tempering and exterior exposure.
Where This Glass Is Used
Museum and retail display cases, storefronts, curtain walls in high-glare environments, and picture framing or exhibit glazing.
Manufacturing Process
- CVD hard-coat application — An anti-reflective oxide coating is applied during the float process via chemical vapor deposition, chemically bonding to the glass surface.
- Reflectance reduction — Multi-layer or single-layer AR coatings reduce surface reflectance from the standard ~8% (both surfaces) to as low as 1–2%.
- Durability — Hard-coat CVD application makes the coating scratch- and weather-resistant, suitable for tempering, laminating, and exterior use.
- Optional lamination — AR glass can be laminated for additional UV protection in display and museum applications.
Applications & Use Cases
- Museum & Retail Display Cases — True-color visibility with minimal glare for viewing displayed items.
- Storefront & Showroom Glazing — Improves visibility into retail and showroom spaces from the street.
- High-Glare Curtain Walls — Reduces exterior reflectance for facades near airports, roadways, or other glare-sensitive contexts.
- Picture Framing & Display Glazing — Common in high-end framing and exhibit glazing applications.
Standard Sizes & Specifications
Coating | Thickness Range | Max Coated Size | Reflectance |
|---|---|---|---|
Single-side AR | 3–10mm | 3300 × 6000mm | ~2–4% |
Double-side AR | 3–10mm | 3300 × 6000mm | ~1–2% |
Technical Service
We support your project from drawing review to delivery, not just order fulfillment.
- Drawing & Spec Review — Shop drawings and project specs are reviewed before production to confirm sizes, tolerances, and edge/hole details match your requirements.
- Testing & Documentation — Mill test certificates, thickness/strength test reports, and compliance documentation provided for project submittals.
- Technical Consultation — Our team advises on coating, thickness, and configuration selection to meet your project's structural and energy code requirements.
Customization
- Custom Cut Sizes & Shapes — Curved, notched, cut-corner, and irregular shapes fabricated to your CAD drawings, not limited to standard rectangles.
- Edgework & Drilling — Polished, beveled, or seamed edges, plus precision hole drilling and cutouts for hardware and fittings.
- Coating & Printing Options — Combine with Low-E coating, tinting, or ceramic silkscreen/digital printing on the same order.
Packaging & Shipping
- Export-Grade Crating — Reinforced wooden A-frame or flat crates with edge protection, built for ocean freight handling.
- Container Loading — Load plans optimize container utilization while maintaining safe glass spacing to prevent transit damage.
- Shipping Documentation — Packing lists, certificates of origin, and mill certificates prepared in advance for smooth customs clearance.
- Lead Time — 7days in 12'' sample; 15days in mock up sample; 35days in project order.
