Decorative Glass
Colored / Art Laminated Glass
Colored (art) laminated glass uses a tinted or pigmented PVB interlayer between glass lites, producing a permanent, richly colored laminated panel that combines the safety properties of standard laminated glass with a decorative color palette.
Key Features
Wide range of standard and custom interlayer colors, retains standard laminated glass safety and UV-blocking properties, color is embedded in the interlayer rather than applied to the surface, and won't fade or wear like a surface-applied color treatment.
Where This Glass Is Used
Feature walls, hospitality interiors, decorative facades, and any application combining safety glazing with a color design element.
Manufacturing Process
- Colored interlayer lamination — A pigmented PVB interlayer film in the specified color is laminated between two glass lites using the standard heat/pressure autoclave lamination process.
- Color consistency — Interlayer color is manufactured to consistent batch specifications, ensuring color matching across multiple panels on the same project.
- Safety properties retained — The finished laminated panel retains standard impact-retention, UV-blocking, and acoustic benefits of laminated glass.
- Base glass options — Can be built from clear, ultra-clear, tempered, or heat-strengthened base lites depending on the application.
Applications & Use Cases
- Feature Walls & Accent Glazing — Color design element for lobbies, retail, and hospitality interiors.
- Decorative Facade Panels — Colored spandrel and vision-area accents as part of exterior architectural design.
- Balustrades & Railings — Combines structural safety glazing with a color design feature.
- Hospitality & Retail Interiors — Branded color palettes integrated into interior glazing elements.
