Insulated Glass Units (IGU)

IGUs combine two or more glass lites separated by a spacer bar and a sealed, air- or gas-filled cavity, reducing heat transfer versus single-pane glazing. Can incorporate Low-E coatings, laminated lites, and gas fills (argon/krypton) to hit specific U-value and SHGC targets for your project.

Key Features

Configurable air gap width and gas fill for target U-values, can combine coated, tempered, and laminated lites within the same unit, and warm-edge spacer options reduce edge-of-glass heat loss and condensation risk.

Where This Glass Is Used

Curtain walls, storefronts, residential and commercial windows, and any glazing application targeting energy code compliance.

Manufacturing Process

  • Spacer & sealant assembly — A spacer bar (aluminum, warm-edge composite, or foam) is placed between lites and sealed with a primary (butyl) and secondary (silicone/polysulfide) seal system.
  • Gas filling — Argon or krypton gas fill replaces air in the cavity to improve thermal performance, sealed to minimize long-term gas loss.
  • Cavity configuration — Air gap width (typically 6mm–20mm) and number of panes (double or triple) are configured to hit target U-value and SHGC.
  • Lite combination — Any combination of Low-E coated, tempered, heat-strengthened, or laminated glass can be built into the same unit.

Applications & Use Cases

  • Curtain Wall & Storefront Glazing — Standard configuration for commercial facade energy performance.
  • Residential & Commercial Windows — Double- and triple-pane IGUs for window and door systems targeting energy code compliance.
  • Green / Net-Zero Buildings — Triple-pane and gas-filled configurations support aggressive U-value targets for high-performance buildings.
  • Acoustic-Sensitive Facades — Asymmetric pane thickness and wider air gaps reduce sound transmission.

Technical Service

We support your project from drawing review to delivery, not just order fulfillment.
  • Drawing & Spec Review — Shop drawings and project specs are reviewed before production to confirm sizes, tolerances, and edge/hole details match your requirements.
  • Testing & Documentation — Mill test certificates, thickness/strength test reports, and compliance documentation provided for project submittals.
  • Technical Consultation — Our team advises on coating, thickness, and configuration selection to meet your project's structural and energy code requirements.

Customization

  • Custom Cut Sizes & Shapes — Curved, notched, cut-corner, and irregular shapes fabricated to your CAD drawings, not limited to standard rectangles.
  • Edgework & Drilling — Polished, beveled, or seamed edges, plus precision hole drilling and cutouts for hardware and fittings.
  • Coating & Printing Options — Combine with Low-E coating, tinting, or ceramic silkscreen/digital printing on the same order.

Packaging & Shipping

  • Export-Grade Crating — Reinforced wooden A-frame or flat crates with edge protection, built for ocean freight handling.
  • Container Loading — Load plans optimize container utilization while maintaining safe glass spacing to prevent transit damage.
  • Shipping Documentation — Packing lists, certificates of origin, and mill certificates prepared in advance for smooth customs clearance.
  • Lead Time — 7days in 12'' sample; 15days in mock up sample; 35days in project order.
