Manufacturing Process
- Multi-ply lamination — Multiple glass (and optionally polycarbonate) layers are laminated with thick interlayers under heat and pressure to build up impact/ballistic resistance.
- Protection-level engineering — Ply count, glass type, and interlayer thickness are engineered to hit a specific tested protection level (forced-entry, ballistic, or blast).
- Third-party testing — Assemblies are tested to standards such as UL 752 (ballistic), ASTM F1233 (forced entry), or ASTM F2248/GSA blast criteria, depending on the specified protection level.
- Framing & anchoring — Requires compatible, tested framing systems to maintain the rated protection level of the full assembly.
